my upstairs neighbor is playing Concrete Blonde's "Joey" (aka "fuckerpants' theme song") WAY too loud right now.

that being said, what are your LC theme songs?

i'll start! v1n*c0g*nitO's is:

"I'm too Sexy" by Right Said Fred
with just a sprinkling of Mill Vanilli's "Girl You Know It's True" for flavor!

"Miss Modern" by Stereolab...All the vocals are in French, but I just love the way it sounds. Great for evening trips up PCH to San Francisco...

but that's not really an *LC* theme song. how 'bout "Love Bites" from Def Leppard? or that new Kelly Clarkson song??

maybe Celine Dion's, "My Heart Will Go On" (??)

ooooh, that reminds me! (new thread)

Actually, I disagree. Give it a listen and get back to me.

BTW: Concrete Blonde LC songs...Caroline, Run Run Run, Tommorrow Wendy...they may be the official band of LC.

Its a tie, and possibly temporary due to short attention span:

'If I Can't Change Your Mind' by Sugar
    or
'Fight Test' by the Flaming Lips
    or
    'XO' by Elliot Smith

    Cruxshadows: "Marilyn My Bitterness"

Linkin Park: In The End. (Pissed off LC song)

    -OR-

    Staind : "It's Been a While"

don't know that it completely fits the theme, but "protection" by Massive Attack generally does it for me...

Hunny, it's Superstar by the Carpenters.

      Superstar

      Recorded by: The Carpenters
      From the 1971 album, Carpenters
Written by: L. Russel and B. Bramlett

Long ago, and, oh so far away,
I fell in love with you, before the second show.
Your guitar, it sounds so sweet and clear,
      But you're not really here
      It's just the radio

Don't you remember you told me you loved me baby?
You said you'd be coming back this way again baby.
Baby, baby, baby, baby, oh, baby.
I love you, I really do.

Loneliness is such a sad affair
And I can hardly wait to be with you again.
What to say, to make you come again? (Baby)
Come back to me again (baby)
      And play your sad guitar.

Don't you remember you told me you loved me baby?
You said you'd be coming back this way again baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, oh, baby.
I love you, I really do

Don't you remember you told me you loved me baby?
You said you'd be coming back this way again baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, oh, baby.
I love you, I really do

          Sorry Entertainer
          by Daniel Johnston

          Where the wind blows
          That's where I go
          Where the moon is
          That's where I am
          And when I just
          Have a problem
Always hoping the wind will blow me away again
          I'm a loner
          I'm a sorry entertainer
          I'm a loner
          I'm a sorry entertainer
          Drove those demons
          Out of my head
With an organ and a pencil full of lead
          And when I'm dead
I'd like to have it said
He drove those demons out of his head
          I'm a loner
          I'm a sorry entertainer
          I'm a loner
          I'm a sorry entertainer
Now the curtain parts the stage
It's the dawn of a new and exciting age
          And I'm free
          Free at last
Like a monkey out of its cage
          I'm a loner
          I'm a sorry entertainer
          I'm a loner
          I'm a sorry entertainer

tell myself what's done is done
            I tell myself don't be a fool
Play the field have a lot of fun
It's easy when you play it cool
            I tell myself don't be a chump
Who cares let him stay away
            That's when the phone rings
            And I jump
And as I grab the phone I pray
            Let it please be him
            Oh dear God
            It must be him
            It must be him
            Or I shall die
            Or I shall die
            Oh hello, hello,
My dear God, it must be him
But it's not him and then I die
            That's when I die
            After a while
            I'm myself again
I pick the pieces off the floor
Put my heart on the shelf again
            He'll never hurt me anymore
            I'm not a puppet on a string
            I'll find somebody else someday
            Thats when the phone rings
And once again I start to pray
            Let it please be him
            Oh, dear God,
            It must be him
            It must be him
            Or I shall die
            Or I shall die
Oh, hello, hello, my dear God
            It must be him
            But it's not him
            And then I die
            That's when I die
            Let it please be him
My dear God, it must be him
            Or I shall die
            Or I shall die

I do quite a mean version of this at Kareoke, if I do say so myself.

I never knew you didnt care
                      Last dance, last chance
When i was down you weren't there
                      One day I'll hide away

I loved you, through and through
but you would not admit the same
                      I cry, and you lie

Also I said it before and I'll say it again:
                        Hallelujah by Buckley/Cohen
                        listen to Jeff Buckley heeeeeere
                        www.atomicwalrus.net/daedalu...ujah.mp3

I heard there was a secret chord
that David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this :
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
                        The baffled king composing Hallelujah

                        Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrough ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

                        Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

                        Baby I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew ya
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
                        It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

                        Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

There was a time when you let me know
                        What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me do ya
But remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Well, maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at somebody who outdrew ya
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
                        It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

                        Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
                        Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah...

I hate that sadness in your eyes

                            To Hallelujah, at least.

Angie doesn't quite do it for me.

Heh. I dated an "Angie" a few years back.
She was very nice.. even invited me to her wedding.

Bumped into her in a cycling store recently. She didn't recognize me, had to introduce myself. Then I had to meet her husband.

                              "Angie... Annnnnngiee..." heh.

A "Love Cursed" moment. You gotta laugh!

I wouldn't say Angie makes me drop my pants, but a great song nonetheless.

Bradley, I agree Hallelujah is a great song. Totally a theme song of mine too.

You know, now that I've gotten to know Stefania a bit and see what a bright shining ray of light she has for an aura, it's kind of hard to imagine her writing words like this, let alone singing them.

Funny how my image of her was so different before I met her!

oh man, i was going to buy this on iTunes:

                      "This Mess We're In"
                      pj harvey w/ Thom Yorke.

but then i realized i actually already have the album in my car (i refer to it as number "7")
